Deep Dive Into Affordable Housing
May is Affordable Housing Month, and East Bay Housing Organizations wants us to know about their virtual Study Room, an online resource to share stories and strategies to unite and win quality, affordable homes rooted in just communities. In the Study Room you’ll find information about why housing is so unaffordable today, as well as organizing tips and proven solutions to these complex problems.
The Study Room is divided into six Study Nooks, each highlighting a different aspect of affordable housing, including local historical knowledge, policy and economic definitions, and stories of residents living in affordable housing:
Building Power, Enacting Solutions — stories and tools for organizing communities and policy wins
How We Got Here — resources to understand the historical path to housing inequity
What is Affordable Housing? — explaining how affordable homes are funded, built, and operated
The People — residents of affordable homes share their stories
The Places — pictures and information of community-invested affordable homes in the East Bay
We Can End Homelessness — current data, stories, and best practices on how we can end homelessness
