From the Editor: Reflections From Our Delegates
This Sunday, reflections on "The Elephant Within."
An inclusive and diverse community of Christians connected by faith that calls us to build a just world for all. The UCC is a church of many firsts, such as the first to ordain a woman (1853) and an openly gay man (1972), and remains active in the movement for abolition (since 1700) and civil rights (since 1950s).
In 1987, we became the 15th UCC congregation nationwide to declare ourselves āOpen and Affirmingā of all LGBTQIA+ persons.
What is your purpose? What brings you hope? Where do you feel God's presence in your life? By connecting with Spirit and one another, we explore how each of us can make our unique contribution to the world. Come explore these questions with us.
“This church gives me the gift of remembering what I care about.”
“What I found here was the action of Jesus’ words…
We knew fairly quickly that we wanted this to be the community for our children to grow up in.
This is the faith community I wish I’d had growing up.”
