August Communion Offering: Bread for the World

Bread for the World is a Christian advocacy organization whose vision is a world without hunger. Their mission is to educate and equip people to advocate for policies and programs that can help end hunger in the U.S. and around the world. They are well known in Washington for their lobbying and advocacy work. They have fought to continue the SNAP benefits program in the US, extend the Child Tax Credit, and supported Feed the Future, which is a program operated by the U.S. government in developing countries where many go hungry.

On August 4, our Communion offering will go to Bread for the World. We are proud to support their advocacy efforts with our donations and our actions. We will also be participating in the offering of letters after church, during Fellowship. All are welcome to use their website, www.bread.org, to email members of Congress instead of writing a letter. If you can, please join us downstairs after the service to write letters to our members of Congress on behalf of Bread for the world. If you can’t come to fellowship, there will be paper and a sample letter in the bulletin.

Please be as generous as you can with your gift. You may give via check made out to FCCA, cash, or online via Tithe.ly.
