On January 26, after worship during the fellowship hour, members of FCCA had the opportunity to get an update on the work and activities of one of our long-time supported social justice ministries, The National Farmworker Ministry, during one of our periodic “fellowship forums” (We take an offering for NFWM every September, and Rev. Sophia DeWitt also serves on the Board.)
Last week we were joined by Julie Taylor, NFWM’s Executive Director. Julie provided updates on the work of the Farmworker Ministry, its plans to stand in solidarity with farmworker communities in the face of the new Trump Administration and how farmworker communities are recovering after the mass shooting that occurred at two mushroom farms in Half Moon Bay.
We are so grateful that we got to spend this time with Julie and hear about the current conditions and needs of farmworkers in our area and around the country.
