Are you feeling disheartened and/or helpless about the state of politics right now? Do you wish there was something you could do? THERE IS!
Join the Justice/Outreach team, Jeanie Egbert, and local Vote Forward volunteer coordinator Betsy Mathieson on Saturday, August 17 at 10:00am in the Fellowship Hall. We will provide coffee and breakfast bites. Betsy will provide packets of letters, envelopes and suggested wording.
Come enjoy some food and camaraderie while we write and address letters to potential Democratic voters in swing states. Vote Forward is a nonpartisan effort and we will not be advocating for or against any candidates! The letters will remind folks to make sure they are registered to vote, and include a personal message from the writer about why they vote. This is a great activity for older teens as well—they will learn that involvement and advocacy are important parts of living in a democratic society.
Please sign up here if you are interested. Bring your favorite pen and we’ll supply the rest. A donation of $12 per person is humbly requested, which will cover the cost of printing, envelopes and stamps for each 20 letters completed.
