Midway Shelter & Building Futures Gift Drive
The women and children served by Building Futures at the Midway Shelter can have a brighter holiday with your help! We are collecting the following:
- gift cards for women and teens (Walmart or Target, $25 maximum per card)
- socks and underwear for all ages, toddlers through adult, women, teens and children (a variety of sizes and genders are needed)

Help the Unhoused in Alameda this Winter
The Alameda Warming Shelter will be opening on December 15 and will be open daily through the spring. Up to 25 unhoused folks will have a warm place to sleep and hang out during the day.
The organizers are looking for community members to prepare dinners and to-go bag breakfasts. This would be a great project for a family to get kids involved in volunteering! Click here to sign up for dinners or breakfasts.
Holiday Cheer for our Accompaniment Families
The two families we are accompanying do not have a lot of extra money to purchase Christmas presents or to prepare holiday treats. The following items would be extremely helpful:
- gift cards in any amount to Walmart, Costco, Target
- checks made out to FCCA with “accompaniment” in the memo line
We will be asking the families if there are specific items they need (Christmas decor, clothing, etc) and will let the congregation know.
