Our Thanks To …

… all who participated in our recent supply drive for residents of the Midway Shelter! Your abundant generosity filled the Narthex with bedding, towels, cleaning supplies, and much, much more to support their transition to long-term housing. Thank you for making a concrete difference in the lives of these families.

… our newly-formed Accompaniment Team, consisting of Cecilia De Rubira, Rev. Sophia DeWitt, Deborah Dunster, Karin Jensen, Teri Kennedy, Kristi Schutjer, Page Tomblln, and Carolyn Villa, with additional language support from Dories Arias and Marlene Mujica-Fill.  The team will be working with two mothers, one from Guatemala and the other from Mexico with a total of five children between them. These two families will be sharing an apartment in Alameda beginning the third week of June. Deborah Dunster and Cecelia DeRubira will act as FCCA point persons with Shelter in Peace and the families.  Rev. Laura will continue to support the team’s partnership with the Interfaith Movement for Human Integrity and First Presbyterian Alameda and First Presbyterian Berkeley. Two members of First Presbyterian Church of Alameda will be part of the accompaniment team. We are looking forward to involving more members of the congregation in this important ministry.
